Creativity is a place where we practice being human. We use the raw materials of our experiences, impulses, and connections to open to what wants to come through, and attune to ourselves, each other and this moment.
Join Conspire and Sustain Studios for a creative process immersive to sharpen and deepen attunement to our senses as a way of orienting in the midst of chaos. May we make, dream, and feel into what’s next together.
This is for those who:
❋ Have tight shoulders
❋ Seek connection with others through parallel process and meaning making
❋ Long to re-engage with materials in a generative way
❋ Deeply steward change and the world to come

Your Facilitators
Dani Austin (they/she)
Co-Founder of Conspire Studio, Dani has a big love for creative process as a practice for relating, learning, and growing. They bring their background of teaching, community organizing, program management, and teaching to their work as a creative facilitator. Dani loves reading/writing poetry, making/admiring ceramics pieces, talking with others about their creative process, learning from the more-than-human world, and being walked by her dog Kai.
Lillie Benowitz (they/she)
Founder of Sustain Studio, Lillie tends ways of being with ourselves, each other, and the divine stuff we are all made of. She is an experienced creative facilitator, event producer, project manager, and spiritual tender energized by creating containers for authentic connection, and fostering innovative expressions of spiritual practice, ritual, and community. They are based on Dakota Land in Minneapolis, MN and cannot wait to journey to Asheville to hold space with the brilliant folks at Conspire.
Kim Wayman (they/she)
Co-Founder of Conspire Studio, Kim is a devotee of deep listening and attuned reading—listening to the moment, looking at the in-between, reading images and energy. She uses these senses in her creative facilitation work, and believes that creativity is how we learn to listen, see, and feel more deeply. Kim loves group problem-solving and ritual (especially when they’re the same thing!), savoring dark salted chocolate, and art time with their seven year old, Matilda.

Our three facilitators are all trained in the lineage of the Jewish Studio Project and the Open Studio Process. The process gently guides participants of all art experience levels into contact with their own creativity. While there is artmaking, there is no way to do it wrong—this is not about end products or goals, but about the alchemy that happens in the space of creativity itself, especially when we’re in that cauldron together.
-

If you are coming from out of town, look for flights into Asheville or Greenville (1 hour away—you’d probably need to rent a car). The studio is located 5 minutes from downtown, in the Charlotte Street neighborhood. The Blind Tiger Hotel is within walking distance, and there are other hotels and AirBnBs nearby. Reach out if you need further assistance or recommendations.

So many fun things! Asheville has great art and music—you can wander around the River Arts District, catch some live music at the Grey Eagle, get a drink and dessert at Potential New Boyfriend, walk along the river or go for a hike on the Blue Ridge Parkway, visit the Botanical Gardens, and lots more! We’re happy to give recommendations for food and shopping, too.
