4 week series
the gift of time:
ancestor zine-ing

w/tikva kingrea & Dani austin

Sundays November 1st, 8th, 15th, & 22nd
4-6pm

In the liminal window of time between Halloween and Thanksgiving, this workshop invites participants to ramble through generational stories towards crafting an Ancestor Zine For 4-weeks, we’ll construct DIY relics exploring the terrain of ancestral gifts and responsibilities. This is a phone-free space of parallel universe time, a place where we collectively introspect, creatively spelunk, and send hey-hello’s to the ones who brought us here and the generations to come. This workshop is for folks who are ancestor-curious, who want to make art with pals, and who are following the rhythm of the thinning veil. Inspired, meaningful, communal. Beginner friendly.

$160 / 4 weeks

week one

In our first week, we explore what it is to be in relationship to ancestors both past and future. How do we move through time, learning from and co-creating with folks who have gone before us, with those who come after us?

week two

When we look at our past ancestors, and ourselves as future ancestors, what histories do we carry? What lessons or responsibilities are we asked to hold and move through together?

week three

In the third week, we revel in our gifts, for the resources we’ve inherited, for the boons of Being that we already have within us. What can we offer present and future moments given what we’ve come into this life with?

week four

In our final week, we’ll share our work with each other after exploring what it is to be a human being in this moment, in this timeline, with our current struggles and celebrations. How do we gain strength and inspiration from our lineages?
