New Moon Creative Sessions

Join us for our monthly creative practice session.

In Jewish tradition, the new moon marks the beginning of a new month, and we draw inspiration from the themes of each lunar month to guide us in connecting to our own cycles, individually and as a community.

Each session follows our creative process: a grounding to start, followed by exploration (in pairs) of the theme of the month, then art-making and reflection time at the end. Our art materials, which include dry and wet media on paper, and air-dry clay, are all consciously sourced. No art-experience required.

We believe that creative practice is a way to cultivate skillful responses to uncertainty, challenge, and change. Through creativity, we find unexpected pathways to coherence when it seems impossible to make sense of what’s happening in the world or in our personal lives.

What People Are Saying

  • I came in from a very busy morning and went back into a very busy afternoon. It meant so much to have a 90-minute break for my nervous system that tapped into the creative part of me that often gets set aside in a busy office environment.

    SJ C.

  • The welcoming space and art materials were beautifully curated to meet us where we were at. It was easy to begin from a place of comfort, which is what I happened to need on that day, while also feeling like I could explore new territory or play with discomfort. I enjoy writing and had never created collage poetry. The baskets of pre-cut words, phrases and visuals were freeing, which had me composing and creating visually at the same time. I'm so grateful for the supportive space and can't wait to come back.

    Dodie S.

  • My first encounter with art therapy was with the fine folks at Conspire. The space is gorgeous and grounding, the art sessions are restorative and allow for the sweetest form of introspection. A hidden gem in Asheville for art and community!

    Sebastian M.

  • The container created by Kim and Dani is both spacious and intimate. Their group sessions provide a balanced mixture of quiet self inquiry and journaling, sharing with partners, and group discussion questions. The space for art creation encourages acceptance and individual expression, with quality art materials. There is so much intention in the studio space itself, you will find yourself feeling very cozy and inspired.

  • In this space, there is no pressure to be anything but who you are in that exact moment, no expectation, no judgement. We shared a reading, posed questions, sought meaning; some shared, some had private musings. The atmosphere was gentle, the room buzzed with quietude. And meaning. I will definitely be returning again and again.

    β€”Suzy M.

  • There is something so genuinely resuscitating about being in the Conspire space and its energy. The content of each class pulses vital and poignant and the guides (Kim & Dani) always (always) share such an illuminating presence, soulful comfort, warm inspiration, and gentle wisdom that your blood remembers.
