SO FAR AWAY, SO CLOSE: FATHER’S DAY SESSION
Father’s Day hits differently if you’ve lost a dad, whether it’s because of death, cognitive degeneration, estrangement, or other life circumstances. We’re not alone.
Today, we’ll gather and feel it all through our creative process. This is a gently guided session, facilitated by Kim. We’ll take time to ground together and tell stories before dropping into non-conversational collage making, with space to reflect and share (optional) at the end.

POETICS OF THE POSSIBLE: WRITING POETRY ON “AMERICA”’S 250TH BIRTHDAY
w/Zoë Fay-Stindt
Sunday, July 5th 1:30-4pm
To mark the 250th year of the founding of America—a nation built on Indigenous dispossession, attempted genocide, and land theft—let’s gather to write beyond empire, white supremacy, and colonial exploitation. “Freedom requires a species-scale betrayal of our founding mythologies,” writes Black feminist theorist and poet Alexis Pauline Gumbs in dub: ceremonies. But once we’ve refused the founding mythologies of this nation, our job as artists is to invent a “poetics of the possible” through which to imagine, invent, and create other possible worlds. What worlds are we summoning, on the page and in the room together? In this generative workshop, we will write together with the option to share what we’ve written and speak those future worlds aloud. A portion of the proceeds will go to Cherokee Preservation Foundation.

NEW MOON CREATIVE SESSIONS
Join us for our monthly creative practice session.
In Jewish tradition, the new moon marks the beginning of a new month, and we draw inspiration from the themes of each lunar month to guide us in connecting to our own cycles, individually and as a community.
Each session follows our creative process: a grounding to start, followed by exploration (in pairs) of the theme of the month, then art-making and reflection time at the end. Our art materials, which include dry and wet media on paper, and air-dry clay, are all consciously sourced. No art-experience required.

BEGIN AGAIN: MONDAY CREATIVE PRACTICE SESSIONS
Our Monday morning session approaches Monday as the place to begin again. Our creative process grounds us for the week ahead through mindfulness practice, setting intentions, dialoguing together, art-making, and reflecting for the week to come. In this practice, we engage with art materials, but it isn’t about making “good” art, but rather about practicing being in dialogue with creative emergence.
